1. The school website that I found had a lot of information about individual classes is called the Lyme School in Lyme, New Hampshire. On their school website, there are many tabs a viewer can click, such as photo gallery and school newspaper. There are also sections for each grade and teacher, which has games, lessons, and worksheets on it. This website required no log in to view all of these things and is very useful for students and parents of this school to have these resources accessible. Included below is a screenshot of their website. http://www.lymeschool.org/classPages.html  2. I see myself incorporating technology in my classroom in many ways, for both students and my own professional use. For students, I really see myself using a smart board because it is beneficial for students to be able to interact with the material. I also see myself using sites like Prezi to make my lectures on instead of Powerpoint because it is more engaging for students and keeps them payi...

For another twitter update,  I have been following the same 4 teachers and here is what they have been tweeting about this week.  Vicki Davis tweeted an article about 100 + ways to use google classroom and all of its features. Matt Gomez tweeted about the recent tragedy that happened in Parkland. Kevin Corbett tweeted about his recent release of his mobile and social apps for teachers to use in the classroom. Robert J. Marzano tweeted many pictures of himself with fans that met him at his workshop and one fan referred to him as an "educational legend".

1. Web 2.0 tools are no longer viable in schools because they do not meet the ELA standards anymore, but there are still some very effective tools that teachers should be aware of. The first one that teachers should be aware of is Pinterest. Pinterest is a very useful platform for finding ideas and inspiration for pretty much anything. Teachers can find so many cute classroom decorating tips, free worksheet printouts, and much more on Pinterest. It is free to use and so fun to find ideas on!! There are many educational tools such as quiz makers, or grammarly, which checks grammar in papers for free. These tools will be a big help to teachers and they should be aware of these options. I really don't think theres any tools that wouldn't help a teacher in some way. 2. A tool that I found very useful is called Teacher Planet. This website is completely free and offers so many great resources. First, there is a tab full of lessons plans where the teacher can pick a grade level and ...

For another twitter update,  I have been following the same 4 teachers and here is what they have been tweeting about this week.  Vicki Davis spent time tweeting about women going into computer science and the importance of women in technology. Matt Gomez tweeted about how the new Gerber Baby for 2018 is the first with down syndrome. Kevin Corbett tweeted about his new math games and worksheets software for teachers to have access to. Robert J. Marzano was still tweeting a lot about his workshops for teachers and how they are also available over webinar sessions so it is easy to access to a wider audience. This has been very beneficial because I feel up to date with educational news!

1. I have had a twitter account for many years but I have never used it for professional reasons until taking this course. It is very easy to find other professionals in the education field and stay up to date with what is going on in the education world through their feeds. I have been interacting with 4 teaching professionals, named Vicki Davis, Matt Gomez, Kevin Corbett, and Robert J. Maranzo. It has been very interesting to follow their accounts and read about current educational news. Twitter can be helpful in my future career by following colleagues and other professionals to stay up to date. 2. The digital divide is a very serious issue in education today. The divide is between students who have access to computers versus those who do not. Computers play a large role in the classroom and technology is essential these days to learning. Students who do not have access to computers and other technologies will be at a disadvantage for the rest of their lives. As a teacher, it would...

1. I have always known that when I become a teacher, I want to teach the 1st grade. After reviewing the ELA technology standards, I feel confident that I would be able to effectively teach many of them. I think I would be most prepared to teach, which says  "Use illustrations and details in a story to describe its characters, setting, or events." I am a visual learner and can usually see how illustrations would give a clearer image into the story that was being told. The standard that I would need to learn more about  says " With prompting and support, read prose and poetry of appropriate complexity for grade 1." Although I could learn, I do not know much about poetry and would not be able to teach it very effectively right now.  2. Growing up, I always had Smart Boards in all my classrooms and I would really like to continue using them in my future classroom. I think that they really give an opportunity for each student to interact with the material being tau...

Twitter is a network used to express thoughts, opinions, and information to a wide audience. In a professional learning network, Twitter can be used as a news source on topics that you choose to follow, as well as a way to stay connected to other professionals in your field. I have recently followed 4 accounts that relate to educational technology. I followed Vicki Davis, Matt Gomez, Kevin Corbett, and Robert J. Marzano. After scrolling through each of their feeds, I realized that they all had educational technology in common. While maybe using it in different ways, they all expressed how important technology use is in the classroom. I found it interesting that Vicki Davis was tweeting about google classroom because it is something we use in EME 2040. I also found it interesting that almost all 4 of these accounts were tweeting about new apps available for teachers that help implement technology in the classroom.
